It's important to us. We want everyone to have fun and enjoy all our activities. This includes all swimmers. the deck staff and the volunteers who keep the whole thing ticking over.
A copy of the code of practice is available on the balcony noticeboard, we encourage all parents to read this and to attend the information night we hold at the start of each season.
We operate an "open bank" policy which means that parents and guardians are welcome to attend all activities and have full access to the volunteer team. We look forward to you dropping down and meeting us. If you have any questions or problems just give us a shout - that's what we are here for.
Sometimes a swimmer needs a little extra help, has concerns over their awards or their class or is not getting on too well. Its normal - we all have good and bad days. Kate and the team are always available.
Check out the noticeboard, say hi to the team, keep coming back.
THE SMALL PRINT - Our Code of Practice
If you participate in any Sthoee activity you need to be aware of this. We are subscribers to the Code of Practice of Lifesavers - The Royal Lifesaving Society UK.
Our Club Welfare Officer {CWO} is Kate Mahon, a trainer with us. Any issue resulting from participation in any class, event or course may be referred to Kate or through any Trainer Assessor.
We take the safety and welfare of all participants be they Children / Adults / Trainers / Assessors / Support Staff seriously and will take appropriate action where necessary particularly in the areas of Safety and Bullying.
If necessary a disciplinary committee is made up of the 4 members of the administration team. This team reports to the Teachers (T/A) team. Appeals on any matter may be made to either the administration team or the Teachers (T/A) Forum. Matters dealt with by our governing bodies can be dealt with though their appeals process.
Have fun and remember that what we do, we do well and for free.
Fourteen years on we remain one of the biggest organisations of our type, we are the best-equipped group in Ireland and we do this for all the right reasons.
